A member of the Movimento Arte Concreta, this group believed art should be formed of the concrete elements of form and colour rather than references to the real world. This print, signed both in and outside the plate, was created in 1949, a year after the movement’s foundation. Despite the group's intentions, it does not feel too far removed from reality - haunting blades suspended upon a platform. It is a companion to this equally interesting piece.
