Mario De Micheli writes brilliantly about the influences on Minguzzi's art from the 'magnificent white buttocks' of his naked aunt, to the sculptors Giacomo Manzù and Marino Marini. The essay covers the artist's career up to the year of publication when Minguzzi, then 80, was still prolific. Expect to see all the hits alongside a few lesser seen gems such as a high quality photograph of Saint Borremeo Amongst the Plague Victims (1951) which was rejected from Milan Duomo. It's a bronze that foreshadows his later work and is granted a generous double spread here. Look at those faces!
