A comprehensive study of Minguzzi's sculpture including a twenty page introduction by Carlo Pirovano illustrated with a selection of colourful, vibrant drawings. There are many highlights in here including wooden versions of his work at St. Peter's and details of his doors of San Fermo Maggiore in Verona. Through the captioning of the panels, the book gives context to the story of Saint Rusticus and Saint Fermus. The panel titled 'the killing of Saint Rusticus with fishbone stuck in throat' doesn't quite reflect what is claimed to have happened. The two martyrs were beheaded with a giant fishbone known as the 'sacra spina' (sacred thorn) and once you've checked out the doors (with this book as your guide) you can go inside and see it on display.
