Primarily a sculptor, this a fantastic example of Consagra’s ‘immagini vaganti’ (wandering images). From the 1960s he created vividly coloured iron sculptures that were no more than a centimetre deep and displayed in the middle of pristine white rooms. Here we see him using the same method in print - the forms floating like cryopreserved brains in conversation. This has been dated to 1967 due to its similarity with ‘Composizione Gris’ (1967).
